HATE AT TATE MEMBERS CARD Presentation Edition

Based on the real Tate Members card, 500 of these little plastic cards were made for National Art Hate Week 2009. Most were given away free with other Art Hate Propaganda and to volunteer Heroes but we kept a few back to make this beautiful presentation edition.

Each set contains two cards showing both back and front, float mounted in a classy black frame.

NATIONAL ART HATE WEEK PROPAGANDA LEAFLETS (Framed Presentation Set)

40,000 of these leaflets were printed and distributed in the run up to and during National Art Hate Week 2009. There were 4 different designs, 3 by Childish and 1 by Adams. On the back of each leaflet was the National Art Hate Week mission statement... often mistaken for a "Manifesto". This was mostly grand statements full of meaningful and meaningless retoric. Interestingly, the sentence that proposed a sustained opposition to the "smug manipulative (art) elite" seemed to anger some people, but the sentence that stated "If a child offers you a painting during Art Hate Week you are to turn away in disgust" didn't seem to offend anyone. We thought this was strange.

This presentation set contains all four designs and an extra leaflet showing the text on the back, all float mounted in an archival black frame.

JOIN THE ART HATE - Propaganda Art Print AP

This was one of the first National Art Hate Week posters designed by Billy Childish. It takes its influence from a film of a man roughly painting a hung Swastika as an anti-nazi symbol on a wall during the Warsaw uprising and a piece of graffiti in Whitstable about the police beating up the elderly. Both perfect starting points for an Art Hate propoganda poster.

This framed print is a signed Artist's Proof from a numbered edition of only 13.
