This is the original File Copy of the letter that was allegedly sent to the Royal Mail Marketing Department in an attempt to get them to use the rather controversial Best of British Mass Murderer and Serial Killer stamps. Needless to say they are not impressed with this visionary marketing strategy and have issued James Cauty Design Solutions and L-13 with a 'Cease and Desist' letter, with a strong threat of financial ruination to all involved.

Their "NOT FOR PUBLICATION" letter along with our considered reply will be published on this site and exhibited in the exhibition as a continuation of this artwork very shortly.

"SCAB" PROTEST STAMP SHEET - Commemorative Presentation Edition

These stamps were made as a protest artwork for the the postal strikes of 2009 during which the Royal Mail are reported to have to have employed 30,000 casual workers to replace striking postal workers. It is also claimed that 30,000 of these stamps were stuck to James Cauty Design Solutions postcards and sent to the CEO of the Royal Mail, Adam Crozier and the Business Secretary, Lord Mandelson. However, we have it on authority that this would have been impossible and is in fact a lie. Only a small number were actually made and given to volunteer activists to distribute. Neither the sheets or individual stamps were made available for sale at the time as the artist felt it would have been wrong to capitalise on the misfortune of the postal workers and would also diminish the political intent of the stamps, but we now have permission to sell a small edition of the sheets as framed presentation sets. Each set also includes framed replicas of the postcards issued at the time. (NOT SHOWN IN PICTURE - coming soon)

Needless to say the Royal Mail are not impressed with this creative approach to political protest and have issued James Cauty Design Solutions and L-13 with a 'Cease and Desist' letter, with a strong threat of financial ruination to all involved.

Framed Artists Proof signed in pencil on the back of the print.

This was first designed as a billboard poster for an Urban Art Festival somewhere in Northern Europe or Scandanavia. They wanted something anti corporate so James Cauty sent them this as a Masterpiece of Subversion to make them scratch their heads a bit. After a bit of head scratching they asked "Why?".

The Aquarium L-13 further compounded the problem by publishing a beautifully produced ltd edition art print with a sub-edition coated in diamond dust. Thus, having liberated the Nike Logo and transformed it into an Internationally Recognised Symbol Against Corporate Oppression Artwork, we all went home happy.

Only a small number of these were made. Hardly any sold and most were thrown away. This isn't one of the diamond dust ones, but we do have one in a drawer somewher.
